Trey Songz was born Tremaine Aldon Neverson on November 28, 1984, in Petersburg, Virginia. Record producer Troy Taylor discovered Trey Songz during a talent show, which led him to a record contract with Atlantic Records. In July of 2005, he released his debut album, I Gotta Make It at the age of twenty. It features the singles "Gotta Make It" and "Gotta Go" and has guest appearances by Twista, Aretha Franklin, and Juvenile. The album has since sold around three hundred thousand copies. Trey Songz than followed it up with the release of his sophomore album, Trey Day. The album debuted at number 11 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart with 73,000 copies sold in its first week and has spawned the singles "Wonder Woman", "Can’t Help but Wait", "Last Time" and "Missin’ You". Trey Songz is currently working on his newest album, Ready, scheduled to be released in August of 2009. Possible collaborators on Ready include Fabolous, Ne-Yo, J. Holiday, Drake, Chris Brown, The Game, Nelly, Soulja Boy, and Gucci Mane. Confirmed producers include co-executive producer Johnta Austin, StarGate, Jermaine Dupri, Troy Taylor, Bryan-Michael Cox, and Eric Hudson. In April 2009, "I Need A Girl" and "Brand New" was released for digital download on iTunes.
