Sheryl Crow is an American singer & songwriter born on February 11, 1962 in Kennett, Missouri. While studying at Kennett High School, Crow was a majorette and an All-State track athlete. She then enrolled at the University of Missouri, in Columbia, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Composition, Performance and Education. While in college, Sheryl Crow sang in a local band, Cashmere. After graduating from college, Crow worked as a music teacher at the Kellison elementary school, in Fenton, Missouri. She was then introduced to local musician and producer Jay Oliver. He had a recording studio in the basement of his parents’ home, in St. Louis, and helped her by using her in advertising jingles. In 1993, she got her first big break and released her debut album, Tuesday Night Music Club. The album peaked at number three and would eventually go on to sell over five million units. Sheryl Crow then released her sophomore self-titled album in 1996. It would go on to peak at number five on U.S charts and at number six on U.K. charts. Sheryl Crow has since released four more albums. On July 15, 2008 she sang the National Anthem at the All Star Game at Yankee Stadium in Bronx, NY.
