Holly Valance was born Holly Rachel Vukadinovic on May 11, 1983 in New Zealand. She is related to the late British comedian Benny Hill, Hill’s cousin was her grandfather. Holly Valance’s first single as a recording artist was a cover of Turkish singer Tarkan’s "Kiss Kiss" released in 2002. The song debuted at #1 in both the Australian Recording Industry Association and UK Singles Charts charts in April of 2002. next single, "Down Boy" peaked at #2 in the UK and at #3 in Australia. Her debut album, Footprints, was released on October 14, 2002. It peaked at number-nine on the albums chart selling over one hundred thousand copies. In 2003, Holly Valance released her second studio album, State of Mind. In Australia, it entered the ARIA Albums Chart at number fifty-seven and fell to number eighty on its second week, spending only two weeks in the top one hundred. In the UK it did even worse, peaking at number sixty and only spending one week in the top seventy-five. In 2004, she started acting in the United States, appearing in episodes of the television series CSI: Miami and Entourage. In 2005, she appeared in an episode of CSI: NY. She then guest-starred in Prison Break, in 2006, as Nika Volek, a role which she continued to portray in the show’s second season.
