Cherish started off as a quintet consisting of the sisters Farrah King (born February 17, 1984), Neosha King (born January 26, 1986), twins Felisha and Fallon King (born June 5, 1987), and close friend Shay Johnson (born December 16,1985). Originally hailing from Maywood, Illinois, the four sisters moved to Atlanta. Cherish’s first single, entitled "Miss P", was produced by Jermaine Dupri, written by Kandi and featured Da Brat. They also recorded three songs for The Powerpuff Girls: Power Pop soundtrack, called "Chemical X", "Power of a Female", and "Me and My Girls". In 2006, Cherish released their debut album Unappreciated. It debuted and peaked at number four on the U.S. Billboard 200, selling 91,000 copies in its first week and spawned the U.S. top twenty single "Do It to It". In 2008 they then went on to release their second studio album, The Truth. The first single is "Killa", featuring rapper Yung Joc and produced by Don Vito and Blade. The single is featured in the movie Step Up 2 the Streets and its Original Soundtrack.
The four sisters of Cherish have all been confirmed to appear as the King Sisters in the upcoming 2009 comedy-drama film Caramel which also stars Lauren London, Chris Brown, Chingy, LeToya Luckett, and Kyla Pratt.
