Known by his stage name Nelly, Cornell Haynes, Jr. was born in St. Louis on November 2, 1974. He has performed with the rap group St. Lunatics since 1993 and was signed to Universal Records in 1999. On June 27, 2000, Nelly released his debut album, Country Grammar. It debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 and went on to peak at number one. The first single released was the song "Country Grammar (Hot Shit). Other singles from the album include "E.I.," "Ride Wit Me," and "Batter Up." It has been certified 3x platinum. In 2002, Nelly released his sophomore album, Nellyville. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard charts and nominated for "Album of the Year" at the 2003 Grammys. In 2004, he released Suit, which debuted at the number one position with over three hundred thousand copies sold it’s first week. It received a Grammy nomination. That same year Nelly released Sweat. It wasn’t as popular as Suit debuting at number two on the Billboard 200, while in the same week, the Suit album debuted at #1 on the same chart. The tracks "Flap Your Wings," "Na-Nana-Na," and "Tilt Ya Head Back" were released as singles.

Fall Out Boy

Fall Out Boy was formed in 2001 in Wilmette, Illinois. The band consists of Patrick Stump on vocals, Joe Trohman on guitar, Pete Wentzon bass and Andy Hurley on drums. Fall Out Boy was formed by Joseph Mark Trohman and Peter Lewis Kingston Wentz. The band was nameless for their first two shows. At the end of their second show, they asked the audience to give them a name. One audience member suggested "Fallout Boy",a reference to the sidekick of the character Radioactive Man from The Simpsons. In 2003 they released their debut album entitled Fall Out Boy’s Evening Out with Your Girlfriend under the Uprising Records label. Also that year they released their second studio album, Take This to Your Grave. The album went on to become certified gold in the US by the RIAA. In 2005, Fall Out Boy released their breakout album, From Under the Cork Tree. The album spawned three singles from this album: "Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down", "Dance, Dance" and "A Little Less Sixteen Candles, a Little More "Touch Me". It has since gone on to be certified double platinum in the U.S. In early 2007 they released their next album, Infinity on High. Infinity on High debuted at number-one on the U.S. Billboard 200,[1] and has since been certified double platinum by the RIAA. Fall Out Boy has since released their fifth album, Folie ŕ Deux which has gone platinum in Australia.

Slipknot

Formed in Des Moines, Iowa in 1995, Slipknot is a heavy metal band that consist of nine members. The current lineup is Sid Wilson, Joey Jordison, Paul Gray, Chris Fehn, Jim Root, Craig Jones, Shawn Crahan, Mick Thomson, and Corey Taylor. The band is predisposed to theatrics and every single member wears a unique and frightening mask on stage and in their videos. They released their debut self titled album in the summer of 1999 under the Roadrunner Records Label. Though met with critical acclaim the album only managed to make it to the number fifty one position of the Billboard Top 200. Slipknot than followed it up with it’s second album "Iowa", released in 2001 and their third album ,"Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)" in 2004. Their current album, All Hope Is Gone, is their fourth studio album and was released in 2008. It has been met both with critical and commercial accolades. In December of that year it was certified gold. Also in December 2008, Total Guitar ranked "All Hope Is Gone" as one of the "50 Best Guitar Albums of the Year". It was the first Slipknot album to make it to the top of nine music charts.

Maroon 5

Maroon 5 is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1994. It members consist of Adam Levine, James Valentine, Jesse Carmichael, Michael Madden and Matt Flynn. In 2002, they released their debut album entitled "Songs About Jane". It peaked at number six on the Billoard 200 and has since gone on to become certified platinum four times over. On May 22, 2007, Maroon 5 released their sophomore album, It Won’t Be Soon Before Long. The album debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200, selling almost a half million copies. It spawned five singles which include "If I Never See Your Face Again", "Makes Me Wonder", "Wake Up Call", "Won’t Go Home Without You" and "Goodnight Goodnight". Then in 2008 they released their third album, Call and Response: The Remix Album. It features remixes of hit singles and tracks from Maroon 5′s first two studio albums. Maroon 5 have sold over 10 million albums in the United States and nearly 15 million world wide. They have also received several awards which include Billboard Music Award for Digital Artist of the Year 2004, a Grammy Award in 2005 for Best New Artist and Billboard Music Award for Top Digital Album for "It Won’t Be Soon Before Long" in 2007.

Plies

Plies is the stage name for American rapper Algernod Lanier Washington. He was born on July 1, 1976 in Fort Myers, Florida. On July 2, 2006, a shooting at a Florida nightclub saw Plies charged with illegal possession of a concealed weapon, and members of his entourage were charged with attempted murder. The shooting, in which 5 people were injured, started after Plies’ microphone was cut off for Lil’ Boosie to perform, after Plies’ performance ran over. According to the promoter, Plies became extremely angry. A fight then began with fists and shouting, and ended with at least six rounds of bullets being fired. In the late 1990s, Plies partnered with his brother Big Gates and established an independent record label named Big Gates Records. It was under this label that Plies released his debut album entitled The Real Testament. It was released on August 7, 2007 and sold 96,000 copies it’s first week putting it at the number one spot in the Billboard 200. It eventually ended up receiving a gold ceritfication. In the summer of 2008, Plies released his sophomore album, Definition of Real. It sold over two hundred thousand copies it’s first week.Two singles were released from the record, Bust It Baby (Part 2) and Please Excuse My Hands. His third album, Da REAList entered the Billboard 200 at number 14 and has sold over three hundred thousand copies to date.

Kelly Rowland

Kelly Rowland was born on February 11,1981 in Atlanta, Georgia. Kelly Rowland rose to fame in the late 1990s as one of the founding members of the girl group Destiny’s Child. During the hiatus of the group, Rowland collaborated with rapper Nelly on the single "Dilemma", a worldwide number-one hit, and released her rock pop-influenced debut solo album Simply Deep in 2002. It became a commercial success, selling more than 3 million copies worldwide, and garnered three more or less successful singles, among "Stole" and "Can’t Nobody". Kelly Rowland branched into acting with a guest stint on the sitcom The Hughleys in 2002, before appearing in other UPN shows such as Eve and Girlfriends in the years of 2003 and 2006 respectively. Following the formal disbandment of Destiny’s Child in 2005, Kelly Rowland’s often-delayed second album, Ms.Kelly, was released in 2007. The album scored medicore commercial success, debuting with the top ten on the Billboard 200 chart, but underperformed internationally, missing the top forty on most charts elsewhere. To date, Ms. Kelly has sold more than 1.2 million copies worldwide. In early 2009, Rowland ended her professional relationship with both manager Mathew Knowles and former label Columbia Records in order to explore other ventures.
