Girls Aloud are a girl group that were created on the ITV1 talent show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002. Girls Aloud consist of Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts, and Kimberley Walsh. In May of 2003 they released their debut album, Sound of the Underground. The album debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart. The album was certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry on 6 June 2003. It was certified platinum five months later. A second version of the album was released on 1 December 2003 and charted at #42 in the UK Album Chart. It had several new tracks, including fourth single "Jump" from the film Love Actually’s soundtrack and "You Freak Me Out" from the remake of the 1976 movie Freaky Friday. The album reappeared in the Top 75 on 31 December 2006, charting at #67, and remaining for a further week, giving it a chart run of 20 non-consecutive weeks on the chart. Then in 2004, Girls Aloud released their second studio album, What Will the Neighbours Say?. Since then they have released 3 studio albums, 2 remix albums, 1 compilation album and twenty one singles.

Trina

Trina was born as Katrina Laverne Taylor on December 3, 1978 in Miami, Florida. She is of African American and Dominican descent. She graduated from Miami Northwestern High School and after high school she worked office jobs at AT&T and United Parcel Service. She also studied real estate. Through the label Slip-N-Slide Records, Da Baddest Bitch, Trina’s debut album was released in 2000. The album contains the singles "Da Baddest Bitch" and "Pull Over". The album peaked at number 33 on the Billboard 200 charts and sold over 700,000 copies in the US. Trina followed up the success of Da Baddest Bitch with the release of her second album, Diamond Princess. The album contains the singles "Told Y’all" featuring Rick Ross, "No Panties" featuring Tweet, and "B R Right" featuring Ludacris. On October 4, 2005, Trina released her third album Glamorest Life. The album debuted on The Billboard 200 chart at #11 with 77,000 albums sold the first week. She has since done two more albums, Still da Baddest (2008) and Amazin’(which is scheduled to be released in September of 2009). Trina is currently in a relationship with NBA Denver Nuggets Power Forward Kenyon Martin.

Spice Girls

The Spice Girls were an English pop girl group formed in 1994. They consist of Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell and Lianne Morgan. In 1996, the Spice Girls released their debut album Spice through Virgin records. In the United States the album produced three top five singles including "Say You’ll Be There" in number three and "2 Become 1" in number four, this songs topping the charts in over 53 countries. In UK it produced four numbers one singles, including a Double A Side, "Mama/Who Do You Think You Are?". Spice was certified 10x platinum in UK, 8x Platinum in Europe and 7x Platinum in US. The album sold 23 million copies worldwide. In 1997, the Spice Girls released their sophomore album, Spiceworld. It produced 3 top twenty singles in the US, four top 2 singles in the UK, and 5 number one singles in Asia. It has sold 20 million copies worldwide. They have since released two more albums and have worldwide sales of over sixty million units. In May 1998, Geri Halliwell left the group in the middle of numerous rumours. The four remaining members released the third album, but went their separate ways in late 2000 to focus on their solo careers.

Paulina Rubio

Paulina Rubio is a singer and actress born on June 17, 1971 in Mexico City, Mexico. On April 30, 1982, she began her career when she was ten years old, under the guidance of Miguel Bose and debuting in a children’s pop group called Timbiriche. Paulina Rubio recorded a total of 11 albums as part of Timbiriche. In 1985, Timbiriche participated in the musical Vaselina. While in Timbiriche, Rubio also turned to acting in telenovelas with Televisa. She landed her first role in 1988, as the villain Paulina Montenegro in Pasión y Poder. In 1991, Rubio left Timbiriche and focused on launching a solo career. She traveled to Spain to begin work on her first project as a solo artist. In 1992, she released her solo debut album, La Chica Dorada under the EMI label. La Chica Dorada was certified Diamond in 1997, and she was presented with an award during her promotion of Planeta Paulina on Veronica Castro’s extinct music show, La Tocada. After many reissues in countries like Mexico, USA, and Spain, the album "La Chica Dorada" has gone on to sell more than five hundred thousand copies worldwide. Paulina Rubio has since gone on to release eight more albums. On April 30, 2007, she married Spanish public relations executive Nicolas Vallejo Najera "Colate" in Xcaret, a Mexican eco-tourism park on the Mayan Riviera.

New Kids On The Block

New Kids on the Block was assembled in Boston in 1984 by producer Maurice Starr. It’s members consist of Donnie Wahlberg, Danny Wood, Joey McIntyre, Jordan Knight and Jonathan Knight. In 1986, New Kids on the Block released their self titled debut album through Columbia Records. The first single, "Be My Girl" received minor airplay around the group’s native Boston, but failed to capture nationwide attention. In 1988 they released their second album, Hangin’ Tough. Though initial sales were weak, it would go on to sell twelve million copies by the end of 1989. New Kids on the Block would then go on to release three more albums; Step by Step, Face the Music and The Block. New Kids on the Block went on tour to support the album Face The Music, playing smaller venues such as clubs and theaters, as opposed to the arenas and stadiums they were once accustomed to. After experiencing increased panic attacks and anxiety, Jonathan Knight left the band. Shortly thereafter, the remaining four decided to officially disband the group. After the group’s split, most of the group members started families and began to venture into other avenues. Jonathan Knight and Danny Wood maintained low profiles, while the other three continued their careers individually.

Ray J

Ray J is the stage name of William Ray Norwood, Jr. He was born on january 17, 1981 in McComb, Mississippi. At age eight, he began auditioning for and appearing in television commercials; he played the foster son in The Sinbad Show. Ray J was signed to Elektra Records in 1995 and recorded his debut album Everything You Want in 1996. The song peaked at number eighty-three in the United States and at number thirty-three in New Zealand. Ray J then released his sophomore album This Ain’t a Game in the summer of 2001. The album spawned one Top 40 hit single, peaking at #30 on the Billboard Hot 100 called "Wait a Minute", featuring Lil’ Kim. He has since gone on to release three more albums, Raydiation in 2005, All I Feel in 2008 and For the Love of Ray J in 2009. He has also appeared in several movies which include "Mars Attacks!", "Steel" and "Christmas at Water’s Edge". He has also appeared in television shows such as "Moesha", "One on One" and "For the Love of Ray J". In 2007, a sex tape was released of Ray J and his girlfriend at the time,Kim Kardashian. On March 10, 2008, Ray J appeared on the Tyra Banks Show to discuss the tape.

Mandy Moore

Amanda Leigh "Mandy" Moore, known simply as Mandy Moore was born on April 10, 1984 in Nashua, New Hampshire. Some of Moore’s first public exposure occurred when she sang the national anthem at several Florida sporting events. She subsequently came to the attention of the head of A&R at Epic Records after his friend, a FedEx employee, overheard her as she sang at a recording studio. In 1999 she released her debut album, So Real. The album spawned a Top 40 hit with the single "Candy" and went platinum within three months. It has since sold more than 3.5 million copies. Mandy Moore followed that success with the release of her sophomore album, I Wanna Be with You in 2000. It peaked at number twenty-one on the U.S. Billboard 200 and was certified gold. The album has sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide. Mandy Moore has since released four more albums and has branched out to acting, starring in such movies as A Walk to Remember, Chasing Liberty and License to Wed. Her new album Amanda Leigh, was released on May 26, 2009. Mandy Moore’s albums have sold more than ten million copies throughout the world.

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez was born on July 24,1969 in the South Bronx borough neighborhood of New York. She was born to Puerto Rican parents Guadalupe Rodriguez and David Lopez. She financed singing and dancing lessons for herself. She then went on countless auditions, finally landing spots in several music videos and also a spot as a back up dancer for the New Kids On The Block. In 1990 she was hired as a backup dancer on the comedy show, In Living Color. Jennifer Lopez appeared on several television shows afterwards but her big break came in 1997 when she was chosen to play the title role in Selena. She garnered much praise for the role and even won a Golden Globe for Best Actress. Jennifer Lopez launched her music career in the summer of 1999 with her debut album, On The 6. She has since gone on to make five more albums and appear in fourteen movies. She has also received publicity for her high profile relationships with celebrities such as Sean Combs, Cris Judd,Ben Affleck and Marc Anthony, whom she’s currently married to. Jennifer Lopez has also won numerous awards such as AMA’s Favorite Pop Singer of 2003 and Favorite Latin Artist in 2007.

Victoria Beckham was born Victoria Adams on April 17, 1974 in Harlow, Essex. Victoria Beckham’s father was an electronics engineer and the success of the family business meant a wealthy upbringing for Victoria and her two siblings,Louise and Christian. At 17, she attended Laine Theatre Arts College and studied dance and modeling. Victoria Beckham joined the girl group Spice Girls in 1994. It featured the following members, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown and Melanie Chisholm. The group’s first single, "Wannabe", went to number one in the UK and the United States and India, and would be followed by eight other successful number one singles from their albums, Spice, Spiceworld and Forever. In August of 2000 she released her first solo single, "Out of Your Mind" in collaboration with Dane Bowers and Truesteppers. She has since released four singles, Not Such An Innocent Girl, A Mind of Its Own, Let Your Head Go and This Groove. She started dating soccer player David Beckham in 1997 after they had met at a charity soccer match, prompting him to request a meeting with her. The couple announced their engagement in 1998 and were dubbed "Posh and Becks" by the media. They were married at Luttrellstown Castle, Ireland on 4 July 1999.

Lil Mama

Lil Mama is the stage name of Niatia Jessica Kirkland. She was born on October 4, 1989 in Harlem, New York. She was the youngest of seven siblings and later raised in Brooklyn, New York. Joining her father’s label, she traveled to Atlanta in 2006 to work exclusively with producer James "Groove" Chambers, who helped construct the "Lip Gloss" single. After Lil Mama did some impressive maneuvering to get her music heard, New York’s flagship hip-hop/R&B station Hot 97 began playing the single constantly. She then started her proffessional career when she was nineteen years old releasing her debut album, VYP (Voice of the Young People). It hit the stores on April 29,2008 and debuted at number 25 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, selling about 19,000 copies in its first week. Its first single was "Lip Gloss". Its second single was "G-Slide (Tour Bus)". The third single, "Shawty Get Loose" features Chris Brown and T-Pain. Tara Kirkland, Lil’ Mama’s mother, died on December 15, 2007 after a four-year battle with cancer. Lil Mama received the news while on tour and had to rush back home. The music video of "Shawty Get Loose" was dedicated to her memory.
